If you are a patient and are trying to contact your surgeon, MSK physician, or physiatrist for non-arthroplasty related matters, you may do so through their medical office assistant (MOA). Dial the phone number listed above and follow the automated prompts to be directed to your doctor's MOA. You can find the direct extension number and e-mail address for your doctor's MOA by going to the Our Team page and clicking on your doctor, or simply find your doctor and their MOA's contact information in the footer of this website.
Please understand that your doctor's MOA may be busy on the phone or running a clinic for your doctor or another doctor at the office. When calling you may be directed to leave a voicemail which is monitored by any one of Central Alberta Orthopedics' MOAs. Leaving a message rather than trying again later is the best way to ensure a timely response to your request.
Sometimes it might be easier to reach your doctor's MOA via e-mail. E-mail, however, is not always a secure form of communication and, therefore, you are advised to limit the amount of information provided and do not send any sensitive information.
If you are a patient with hip and knee osteoarthritis and/or hip and knee joint replacement and are trying to contact the Hip and Knee Clinic
When speaking with an MOA or any other staff whether by e-mail, phone or leaving a voice message, please be respectful. Abusive language will not be tolerated and may result in your expulsion from the clinic.
Any information provided by the MOAs should not be considered professional medical advice unless it has been said to have been relayed directly from your doctor.
If you are trying to contact us because of concern relating to your wait for consultation or surgery; we at Central Alberta Orthopedics recognize that long wait times to access specialist care can be frustrating. Please understand that there are things beyond our control that limit patient access to consultation, outpatient treatments and surgical care, and that we, as clinicians, are doing our best to see and treat patients in a timely manner.
